Liar, liar pants on fire and solicitors behaving badly
Isabel Barter will address the civil standard of proof and allegations of dishonesty in professional negligence claims following the recent cases of Group Seven Ltd v Ali Nasir [2017] EWHC 2466 (Ch) and Ivey v Genting Casinos [2017] UKSC 67.
Ruth Kennedy will consider recent cases involving solicitors’ negligence focusing on questions of fraud, fees and flimsy heads of loss. These will include Dreamvar v Mishcon de Reya [2017] EWHC 3316 (Ch), Lejonvarn v Burgess [2017] EWCA Civ 254 and Thomas v Hughes James Ford [2017] EWCA Civ 1303 respectively.
