2TG has a reputation for claimant and defendant work in every profession from actuaries to underwriters.
We act for and against architects, project managers, structural and consulting engineers and their private and corporate clients in indemnity cases, liability and insurance-related claims. Cases may turn on highly technical issues of policy construction, or on the factual exploration of professional misjudgement, product or system failure or neglect of duty. Many of our cases in this area are heard in the TCC.
We undertake solicitors' negligence cases, often connected to mortgage-related fraud, featuring specialised issues of policy construction and the repudiation of cover in cases where the insured solicitor's conduct has been dishonest. We also act for both solicitors and barristers accused of professional miscondct.
We advise in a range of finance and insurance-linked cases, including property valuations for sub-prime lending and PFI disputes and where negligence is alleged in the part of financial intermediaries and accountants.
Our traditional strength in insurance law and litigation has helped us to develop a particular understanding of brokers' negligence, a field in which we are acknowledged specialists.
