The assessment of damages in holiday claims: Milner v Carnival (t/a Cunard) [2010] EWCA Civ 389

Date: 2010-05-11

Location: London

Venue: 2 Temple Gardens

Time: 6 - 7pm

Expertise: Travel & Jurisdiction

Christopher Lundie will present this seminar having recently represented Cunard in its successful and much publicised appeal to the Court of Appeal on the assessment of damages in holiday claims. Judgment was handed down on 20th April 2010 in what is the first appellate authority on the correct approach to the assessment of damages in a difficult area of law.  The seminar will look closely at the decision of the Court of Appeal and will cover not only what the Court of Appeal did say but also what it did not say. The inter-related concepts of diminution in value and damages for loss of enjoyment will be considered. It is likely to be an informative and entertaining seminar.

We should be delighted if you could join us for this seminar. The lecture will commence promptly at 6pm, will last about an hour and will be followed by drinks and canapés.

This seminar will qualify for 1 CPD point and is free to attend.
