2TG host a breakfast panel discussion in celebration of International Women’s Day and the International Bar Association of Human Rights Initiative’s efforts to support Afghan Women Judges.
Members of 2TG are delighted to be hosting a panel discussion with Baroness Helena Kennedy, Caroline Harrison KC and Judge Fawzia Amini, a senior appeal court judge from Afghanistan, over breakfast on Thursday 10th March at 8.30am
Baroness Helena Kennedy KC and the IBA have been leading an initiative to bring Afghan women judges, lawyers and journalists and their families out of danger following the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021 (see here and here). 2TG has been working with these organisations to provide support to those who have been resettled in the UK. This panel discussion will reflect on the experiences of being a judge in Afghanistan, how the legal profession can support those resettled here and what more can be done to assist those still in Afghanistan.
Places are strictly limited, and we kindly request you RSVP to email@example.com as soon as possible in order to reserve your place.
