Posted: 14/12/2021

2TG is delighted to announce that commercial litigation, international arbitration and employment barrister, Emma Walker, is joining Chambers with effect from 1 January 2022. She will be joining from DWF Advocacy where she is currently Head of Commercial. Emma is ranked this year’s Legal 500 as a key lawyer in commercial litigation stating that “Emma Walker is a very good barrister, with a keen eye on the detail and all its moving parts.”

Emma has excellent expertise in dealing with high-profile disputes across a range of industry sectors including in commercial, banking, construction, oil and gas and aviation. She has a particularly good reputation in the Gulf Region, and has acted in ICC, LCIA, DIFC-LCIA and UNCITRAL arbitrations as well as in complex commercial and employment law litigation. Emma is currently instructed as Junior Counsel for one of the Core Participants in the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry.

Emma has been an employed barrister for over five years and is Chair of the Bar Council’s Employed Barristers Committee. In her role as an employed barrister, she has gained great experience of working amid teams from the very earliest stage of cases, and fully understands the pressure points faced by solicitors in complex litigation.

Head of Chambers, Martin Porter KC is thrilled. “Emma will join a thriving and dynamic set in 2 Temple Gardens, and we can’t wait to welcome her to Chambers in January,” he says. “Emma’s expertise in commercial litigation, arbitration and employment law, along with her impressive experience in the Gulf region, make her an excellent fit for our own market-leading practices in these areas. She will be an excellent addition and we look forward to supporting Emma as she continues to advance her career.”

Emma adds “I am delighted to be joining 2 Temple Gardens and am really excited to start this next chapter of my career at a set that enjoys such a progressive and supportive reputation in the market. I was naturally drawn to 2TG due to the obvious synergies with my own practice. It is just a perfect match.”
