In celebration of International Women’s Day and the International Bar Association Human Rights Initiative’s efforts to support Afghan Women Judges, 2TG warmly invites you to a panel discussion with Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, Judge Fawzia Amini and Caroline Harrison QC over breakfast on Thursday 10 March 2022.

Starting at 8.30am, this event will take place in The Queen’s Room of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, London, EC4Y 9AT. Directions can be found here.

Places are strictly limited and we kindly request you RSVP to: as soon as possible in order to reserve your place.

Baroness Helena Kennedy QC and the IBA have been leading an initiative to bring Afghan women judges, lawyers and journalists and their families out of danger following the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021 (see here and here). 2TG has been working with these organisations to provide support to those who have been resettled in the UK. This panel discussion will reflect on the experiences of being a judge in Afghanistan, how the legal profession can support those resettled here and what more can be done to assist those still in Afghanistan.

We look forward to welcoming you.
