The regulation of crypto-currencies and initial coin offerings (‘ICOs’) have been making the headlines in the last few weeks. The UK government has just announced that the setting up of a crypto-assets task force (consisting of the Treasury, the Bank of England and the FCA) and the launch of a Global FinTech regulatory sandbox.  The G20 have set a July deadline for a global approach to crypto-regulation. Meanwhile in the USA the SEC has issued dozens of subpoenas in connection with ICOs and a US Federal Court has confirmed the jurisdiction of the Commodities and Futures Trade Commission in connection with cryptocurrencies in CFTC v McDonnell.

Christopher Lundie and George Hilton will provide an insight into the UK and international regulatory issues which arise in connection with crypto-currencies and ICOs and will consider some of the recent cases emerging from around the world. This seminar follows on from the hugely popular first seminar which provided an introduction to the legal issues surrounding cryptocurrencies and which has been repeated in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, London, Birmingham and in-house to numerous leading law firms.

We would be delighted if you could join us. We will start promptly at 6pm. The seminar will last about 1 hour and will be followed by drinks and canapés at 7pm.

This is a free event which qualifies for 1.5 CPD hours.

If you wish to attend this event please respond to Deborah Francis at seminars@2tg.co.uk.
