In this second webinar on cross-border personal injury claims, the 2TG Travel Team will focus on important issues relating to the respective scope of the applicable law and the law of the forum, as well as the application of EU law post-Brexit.

Lucy Wyles will consider the issues of limitation and assessment of damages in cross-border personal injury claims to which a foreign law applies, and the legal traps and practical difficulties which these issues can cause. Lucinda Spearman will consider the approach to claims for interest under Rome II, and the significant impact this can have on the value of a cross-border claim. Tom Fairclough will provide a guide to the role of EU law post-Brexit and explain the framework and effect of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. The webinar will be introduced and hosted by Marie Louise Kinsler KC.
