In this webinar, Rehana Azib explores employers’ liability for stress-related psychiatric injuries and related employment claims arising in extraordinary work situations, including the current COVID-19 work climate. She addresses breach of duty, foresight of harm and causation in respect of exceptional work situations and their implication on liability risks in the common law and employment law spheres. In particular, she discusses how breach of duty and foresight of harm have been extended post-Barber v Somerset, and what steps may be required by employers to minimize the risk of harm to employees.
