At 2TG our barristers are expert in a broad range of complementary practice areas and we enjoy repeat instructions from a variety of loyal clients.
Practised advocates from the start, all our Silks and the vast majority of our Junior barristers are recognised as leaders in their chosen fields. Many of us are at the forefront of shaping the law in our specialist areas and we pride ourselves in having excellent industry knowledge.

Our barristers are also skilled as advocates in different alternative dispute resolution procedures and work strategically with clients to understand their commercial objectives, and then to resolve litigation as cost-effectively and expeditiously as possible.
Work with an international dimension forms a significant part of many barristers’ work at 2TG.
We appear in international courts and arbitral tribunals all over the world, frequently acting on complex multi-jurisdictional disputes. We are particularly well-known for managing cross border litigation on matters of jurisdiction and applicable law and appear regularly in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
At 2TG, in addition to our professional advice, we are recognised for our excellent contribution to education and development. We provide regular high-quality training.
Our reputation among the legal profession and other clients for our first-rate webinars and in-person conferences is very important to us. We also contribute frequently at industry events and as editors of leading texts and authors on topics of legal interest.
Disciplinary and regulatory work is a fast-growing area for 2TG, in light of the interface between professional disciplinary matters and other areas of strength at the set, such as professional negligence, clinical negligence, sport, civil fraud and employment.
Our barristers have extensive and broad experience of the ever-increasing regulatory landscape and possess an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of professions and disciplinary tribunals. We are particularly well placed to offer advice in the areas of healthcare, sport and the professions with barristers advising on and representing clients in cases concerning the discipline of regulated individuals in all of these areas.
Our barristers are familiar with the regulatory framework governing legal, accountancy and financial professions, including the professional conduct committee of ICEAW and CIPFA, the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, and the professional conduct committee of the Bar Standards Board. We have been instructed in numerous cases arising out of allegations of professional misconduct before these tribunals. We also have experience of the administrative court and the Court of Appeal in relation to disciplinary and regulatory matters.
Most members count professional regulation as a complementary addition to their main practice area. Many of our clinical negligence practitioners, for example, will be instructed on disciplinary cases involving GPs and other medical professionals. We have advised and appeared on behalf of doctors and dentists facing disciplinary proceedings before the Professional Conduct Committees and Fitness to Practice Procedures of the General Medical Council and the General Dentistry Council. We also count among our number Legal Assessors appointed by the GMC.
We are especially well recognised for our specialist sports law practice and this team provides advice for sporting bodies and associations as well as professional sportspeople facing disciplinary and regulatory charges. We are familiar with disputes in relation to the interpretation and application of the rules and regulations of major sports governing bodies, such as FA, Premier League, IRB, RFU, FIA, MSA, ACU, ECB, LTA and UCI, as well as contractual and disciplinary disputes relating to a wide range of sports specific matters.
