We are delighted to be co-hosting a panel session with Reed Smith Global Commercial Disputes Group, as part of London International Disputes Week (LIDW) 2024. Taking place on 5th June, Charles Dougherty KC and Timothy Killen of 2TG, Mark Pring and Catherine Lewis of Reed Smith and independent arbitrator, Sitpah Selvaratnam will discuss ‘Disagreements on where to disagree: establishing the jurisdiction of the English courts.’ The panel will look at issues arising in establishing the jurisdiction of the English courts including recent cases on forum non-conveniens, “anchor defendants” and the necessary or proper party gateway and multiple dispute resolution clauses as well as discussing an arbitrator’s view of jurisdiction challenges.
