We are particularly well-known for managing cross border litigation on matters of jurisdiction and applicable law and appear regularly in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.

Conor’s practice focuses on professional negligence, product liability, construction, commercial disputes and arbitration and private international law. He is regularly instructed as sole counsel or as part of a larger team.
Conor studied Law at the University of Oxford, graduating with a First Class undergraduate degree and read for the BCL the following year. Before coming to the Bar, Conor was the Judicial Assistant to Lady Justice Asplin in the Court of Appeal, assisting with a wide range of commercial appellate work.

Conor’s professional negligence practice encompasses a wide range of professions including architects, designers, engineers, lawyers and surveyors. He has experience acting for both claimants, defendants and insurers. He has a particular interest in cases which overlap with his construction practice.

Acting as junior counsel for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the Tenant Management Organisation in relation to recovery actions arising out of the Grenfell Tower fire (led by David Turner KC, Clare Dixon KC and Isabel Barter).
Acting for solicitors in a c. £12 million claim arising out of the sale and purchase of a company (led by Timothy Killen).
Acting as sole counsel for a firm of architects in a case concerning the scope of an architect’s duty of care and the correct measure of loss.
Assisting Isabel Barter in the appeal in Page v Kidd [2021] 11 WLUK 294, a solicitor’s negligence case concerning s.14B of the Limitation Act 1980.
Conor is regularly instructed as sole and junior counsel in a range of product liability disputes. He has particular experience with cases involving construction products, white goods and medical devices and is often led in cases involving group/multi-party litigation.

Instructed as sole counsel in a multi-day trial concerning the scope of a supplier’s liability under s.2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
Instructed as sole counsel for a well-known producer of infant formula powder allegedly contaminated with Salmonella.
Conor has particular experience in construction disputes and accepts instructions in cases arising from various standard form construction contracts, such as the JCT, ICE, NEC, RIBA and FIDIC contracts. He is particularly sought after in construction disputes which overlap with his professional negligence expertise, including cases involving allegations against architects, engineers, and other contractual parties.
His current cases include a number of multi-million pound cladding claims following the Grenfell Tower fire, as well as claims under the Building Safety Act 2022 including claims for building liability orders.
Acting as junior counsel in a multi-million pound cladding and fire protection claim in the TCC (led by Matthew Thorne).
Assisting Lynne McCafferty KC and Matthew Thorne in Lendlease Construction (Europe) Limited v Aecom [2023] EWHC 260 (TCC) which concerned amongst other things limitation in construction and professional negligence cases and continuing duties to review or warn.

How I store your personal information
Your information is securely stored in Chambers or at my home. I use reasonable technical and organisational security measures such as password protection and encryption of computer generated data and keeping paper data secure to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost or destroyed, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way.
In this connection, Chambers, as data processor, acting on my behalf, will only process your personal data on my instructions and is subject to a duty of confidentiality.
The data will be held in line with any regulatory obligations and generally be kept for 6 years but may be 12 years, or longer where, for example, the case includes information relating to a minor, from the date of completion of instructions. At this point any further retention will be reviewed and the data will be marked for deletion or marked for retention for a further period.
All data will be securely deleted or securely shredded after this time without reference to you. I will store some of your information which I need to carry out conflict checks for the rest of my career. However, this is likely to be limited only to your name and contact details and the name of the case. It will not include any information that is “sensitive information” for GDPR purposes.
