Henry Morton Jack has developed a busy practice and is instructed in a wide range of work in line with chambers core areas.
Henry has a particular interest in the area of international law, and has recently appeared in the Supreme Court in a claim involving jurisdictional questions arising out of a fatal accident abroad.
Henry’s practice also encompasses insurance, with an emphasis on motor fraud, and property damage, where he has growing experience of both court and paper work.
Prior to joining 2TG, Henry was signed to Sony/BMG as a recording artist and songwriter, touring extensively and playing alongside artists such as Radiohead and Beck.
Henry is ranked Tier 1 in the Legal 500 for Insurance Fraud. As a leading junior in this area of law, clients say that he is “A very good strategist that is truly aware of clients’ aims and commercial realities.” “…excellent in cross-examination and has an ability to grasp all the issues”.
During pupillage Henry gained experience of a wide variety of general contractual disputes, including claims involving the sale and supply of goods and services and credit hire litigation.
He worked extensively on Milner v Carnival PLC [2010] EWCA Civ 389 CA, a landmark Court of Appeal decision on the assessment of damages for a ruined holiday.
Henry has experience of insurance claims concerning policy interpretation, avoidance of cover for nondisclosure, misrepresentation and breach of notification clauses.
In 2010 Henry completed a placement with Clyde and Co, where he was involved in the disclosure process and drafted witness statements in relation to reinsurance claims arising out of the 9/11 attacks.
Henry has also given seminars, both to invited audiences in 2TG and in-house for solicitor clients on motor insurance, compulsory provisions under the RTA 1988 and recent developments in motor fraud.
Henry is increasingly instructed in motor claims with a fraud element, and regularly defends motor insurers against fraudulent claims.
Routinely instructed in claims involving international law, this year Henry has appeared in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the High Court in jurisdictional cases. Henry frequently acts against highly-ranked individuals in this area and is instructed in complex applications to serve out as well as claims concerning questions of domicile and applicable law. Henry has been instructed in claims that have received wide publicity, and also writes articles and lectures abroad on the Athens and Montreal Conventions.
Henry frequently appears in fast-track trials and disposal hearings in personal injury matters with a particular emphasis on defending fraudulent claims. He also has a busy paper practice, drafting and providing legal and tactical advice in a range of cases, including industrial deafness and sun protection claims.
Henry regularly advises on a range of property damage matters, as well as appearing in interlocutory hearings and at trial. He has particular experience in fire and water damage cases and regularly advises on cases concerning property damage caused by fire, flooding, building work and subsidence. Henry also has experience of contribution claims between architects and construction companies relating to allegedly negligent repair work.

How I store your personal information
Your information is securely stored in Chambers or at my home. I use reasonable technical and organisational security measures such as password protection and encryption of computer generated data and keeping paper data secure to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost or destroyed, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way.
In this connection, Chambers, as data processor, acting on my behalf, will only process your personal data on my instructions and is subject to a duty of confidentiality.
The data will be held in line with any regulatory obligations and generally be kept for 6 years but may be 12 years, or longer where, for example, the case includes information relating to a minor, from the date of completion of instructions. At this point any further retention will be reviewed and the data will be marked for deletion or marked for retention for a further period.
All data will be securely deleted or securely shredded after this time without reference to you. I will store some of your information which I need to carry out conflict checks for the rest of my career. However, this is likely to be limited only to your name and contact details and the name of the case. It will not include any information that is “sensitive information” for GDPR purposes.

As above, I may share your personal data with Chambers who may in turn use that data to notify you by email, or post about an invitation to seminars and similar events.
