Posted: 30/10/2017

Malmaison Hotel,

10th January 2023

Cost: Free
CPD: 1.5 hours

Roger Harris will discuss claims relating to dangerous animals under the Animals Act 1971. The Act has been described as ‘divorced from reality’ and ‘bristling with practical difficulties’. Roger will consider recent case law including Lynch v Ed Walker Racing [2017] EWHC 2484 and highlight areas of ongoing controversy.

Jonathan de Rohan will talk about physical dangers in the countryside and claims arising out of the Occupiers Liability Acts 1957 and 1984. He will consider the distinction between hazards arising as a result of the condition of the premises and those arising from perilous activities, together with the growing importance of voluntary acceptance of risk.

We would be delighted if you could join us. The seminar will commence at 6pm, last about 1 hour and will be followed by drinks and canapés.

This is a free event which qualifies for 1.5 CPD hours.
