The Royal Courts of Justice was the venue last week for the semi-finals of the annual Times student moot competition with 2TG chambers. The contestants appeared before the High Court judges Mrs Justice Jennifer Eady and Mr Justice Johnson in a battle over a scenario inspired by the HBO drama Succession, in which they focused on the duty of good faith in English contract law. Mr Justice Johnson described the standard as “easily matching the very best applicants for pupillage”. The final will be held in March before Lady Justice Asplin, Lord Justice Newey and Lord Justice Dingemans.
