Employment

At 2TG, our employment team comprises specialist advocates who have extensive experience of acting for clients in all aspects of employment law.

We represent every level of employee and a broad range of public and private sector clients. We are instructed by a wide range of claimants and respondents, including multi-national companies, City institutions, Premier League football clubs, local authorities, trades unions, government departments and NHS Trusts.

Our barristers have significant experience in acting in large scale High Court disputes between employers and employees. Such disputes focus on restrictive covenants, confidential information and trade secrets and breaches of contractual, fiduciary and directors’ duties. This includes claims with an international dimension, raising issues of choice of forum and territorial scope. Members of our group have extensive experience of applying for urgent interim relief to enforce restrictive covenants and to restrain the misuse of confidential information.

We are experts in occupational stress and harassment and all forms of discrimination claims, including equal pay disputes and claims by members against their trade unions.

We advise on non-contentious employment matters including remuneration arrangements, employee status and confidential information, as well as drafting employment contracts, company policies and LLP and shareholder agreements.

Some of us practice in both employment law and other relevant areas including personal injury, commercial fraud, insurance and sport, and bring specialist knowledge to bear from these other areas of practice. We are especially well known for acting on cases which consider the convergence of employment law and psychiatric injury in the workplace, the overlap with disciplinary and regulatory law and the interaction between employment law and commercial law in the protection of businesses.

We can accept instructions from members of the public and corporations under the Public Access Scheme.

Our members deliver a monthly 15 minute webinar programme in which we present on the developments in employment law over the previous month.
